Established in 1967, Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) welcomed its first group of students in 1969. Ranked among the highest universities in the Southern United States by U.S. News & World Report and recognized as one of the best colleges in the Southeast by The Princeton Review, AUM attracts students from across the nation and around the world. Each year, nearly 5,000 students choose AUM as their academic home, pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees across a wide range of disciplines within the university’s five colleges: Business, Education, Nursing and Health Sciences, Arts and Sciences, and Public Policy and Justice. The university offers more than 90 fields of study, including several programs that are distinctive within the region, such as Geographic Information Systems, Hospitality and Tourism, Homeland Security, and Cybersystems and Information Security. All five colleges provide undergraduate and graduate courses delivered through traditional, online, and hybrid formats, with classes available during daytime, evening, and weekend hours to accommodate different student needs. In addition to its academic offerings, AUM features an active campus life with more than 60 student organizations and a strong athletics and recreation program. This dynamic environment makes the university an excellent choice for students seeking both academic achievement and meaningful, long-lasting connections during their studies.
