The University of North Texas is one of the largest universities in the United States, welcoming students from across the country and from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds. Established in 1890 as a private teacher-training institution and officially recognized in 1901, the university has continuously worked to prepare creative students for a rapidly changing world. UNT operates four campuses across North Texas in Denton, Frisco, McKinney, and downtown Dallas. The main campus in Denton is located in a warm southern climate and offers a calm, small-city environment just 35 minutes from Dallas. Denton is known for its vibrant community and attractions, including a downtown square with a historic courthouse, unique shops, diverse dining options, museums, and art venues, as well as live performances outside the courthouse. The Creative Art studio showcases local artists and offers classes for emerging artists, and students can also enjoy late-night treats at Denton Square Donuts.
